OUR GOALS

Joseph and Kevin Sullivan, 2022

Daxbot is a USA-based robotics company. Joseph (LinkedIn) and Kevin Sullivan (LinkedIn) founded Daxbot in 2015 to make a whole generation of interactive service robots.

Production for Dax started in 2021. We launched our first out-of-state delivery deployments the same year.

Joseph and Kevin are brothers who helped revolutionize tech for emergency responders. They have set out to do the same for robotics on an even larger scale.

Joseph and Kevin also founded Active911, Alyrica Networks, Nova Dynamics, and Mammoth Corporation.

Dax Design Goals

Joseph started work on Dax in 2015. Rule #1 from the start was that Dax had to be people-oriented, so we hired a designer and took a design-first approach to building it. It irritated the engineers, but it was worth it.

That's why Dax has a neck. Most engineers want to cover Dax with cameras and sensors, like a fly with 100 eyes. That's creepy. We gave Dax two eyes and a neck so you can see where it's looking. This takes an organic approach by making Dax communicate like a dog or other animals that we're all familiar with.

When Dax tilts its head and smiles at you, you don't have to think about what that means. Dax is the only Urban robot that operates in this way.

Design Goals

The Future Objective

Daxbot has designed a patented operating system to support the next, more complex generation of robots. From this, we've created and deployed our first AI service robots optimized for food delivery and are working to reshape this multi-billion-dollar industry. Dax robots are also deployed for security patrol and to gather ADA compliance data for cities.

Traditionally, robots run on top-down operating systems that rely on complex algorithms to complete definable tasks.

Dax runs on DaxOS (“Dax Operating System”), a new kind of robotic operating system that allows robots to focus on completing multiple goals (like delivery + human interaction) without having to know everything they will encounter at the beginning of their mission.

Dax Design Goals

While protecting the interests of shareholders, we are creating tools like DaxOS to use for more than just Dax—tools that revolutionize what we currently think of as possible and build into the synergy of the creative community.
