Gazette Times 04-20-20

In early 2020 the pandemic hit. We’d been using data from our first delivery tests to improve Dax and weren’t quite ready to roll him out, but this seemed like a custom-made opportunity for him to help. With stay-at-home directives and restrictions on business it was a hard time for everyone.

We offered to schedule Dax to pick up any items from local stores that Philomath citizens might need. People could text us to schedule a local pick-up, and then call the store to pay for the items they were purchasing.

The Gazette Times covered the story and helped get the word out that Dax was available to help. This also provided an opportunity for us to test out some of our new design improvements. Several future improvements, such as the ability to press a crosswalk button, are also mentioned in this article.
