Corvallis Advocate 06-22-20

In June of 2020 Samantha Sied with the Corvallis Advocate picked up the story of a robot doing local deliveries for a small town during the pandemic.

COVID brought us a few things we’d never seen before—this story includes a short video of a tailgate coffee hour, with Dax delivering a few treats.

Samantha talks about McKinsey & Co’s 2018 report, which predicts that by 2025 80% of deliveries will be made by robots and self-driving vehicles. The pandemic has potentially increased the rate at which that conversion may happen. As it does happen it opens a whole new job market for robot operators (robots still need to be supervised), delivery robot technicians, and of course manufacturers. We want to keep the world connected, so robots like Dax that focus on the experience are becoming more essential as that change takes place.

Samantha also covers Dax’s delivery capabilities, features, and some of the trial and error that led us to the class of Dax we’re marketing today.
